FAQ & troubleshooting

Quick fixes for the most common snags while configuring and exporting. Look up the technical terms around the model in the Glossary.

My part is bigger than the print bed

When a part is too big, PrintHaus splits it automatically at export, across the long axis, and joins the pieces with connectors so you can plug them back together after printing. First check in the Export step that your print target and bed size are right:

  • Bambu Lab printers: the bed comes from the printer profile you pick.
  • Manual bed size: enter your own dimensions (at least 150 × 150 mm; at very fine scales at least 250 × 250 mm).

If a part category is still flagged as "doesn't fit flat on the print bed", or the export reports too many print-bed parts, pick a smaller scale (larger denominator) or a larger bed.

How the joints look and fit is covered under Connectors.

Windows or muntins are missing at small scales

That's intentional. From a very small scale onward (from 1:100), PrintHaus exports each floor and the roof as one solid body. Windows and doors stay as cutouts, but without muntins, glazing or connectors — the parts would be too small to print.

Want the fine parts back? In the Export step, pick a larger scale (denominator 1:99 or smaller).

Closing openings

At these small scales you can also have the export close windows and doors completely — then you're left with a shallow recess instead of a hole.

The texture preview flickers or shows pattern glitches

Display glitches in the texture preview (flickering, pattern artifacts) are purely rendering effects in the 3D preview. They are not part of the exported 3D model — you can safely ignore them.

The later steps are locked

Every step after Floor plan stays locked as long as your floor plan isn't valid yet. With L, T and U shapes this happens when the dimensions don't add up — for example when an inset or cutout is wider than the whole building.

The floor-plan panel then shows you under "Check dimensions" exactly which dimension is the problem. As soon as the notice disappears, the Roof, Fit-out & Add-ons, Openings, Extras and Export steps open up again.

Export interrupted or "server busy"

Preparing the files normally takes at least 30 seconds and can take up to 2 minutes. Two messages can stop an export:

  • "Server is busy right now": another export is currently running. Wait a few seconds and start the export again.
  • "The export was interrupted (server restart)": the job was lost. Just start the export once more.

In both cases your configuration is kept — nothing is lost.

Export takes too long

If the export aborts with "took too long" or because it ran out of memory, try again with fewer textures or a larger scale.

"No visible parts to export"

This message appears when the "Export only visible parts" option is on but every floor or part is hidden in the Visibility panel — leaving nothing to export.

In the Visibility panel (right-hand column) turn some floors or parts back on, or switch the "Export only visible parts" option off.
