Export

Step 6 turns your house into the finished print files. You choose the scale, set the print target and download the files. All settings are in the main panel and in the parameter panel on the right.

Scale

At the very top you set the scale — the large value (e.g. 1:87) shows how much the model is shrunk. Below it you see the building dimensions before and after shrinking, live.

You first pick a theme; the matching scales then appear inside it as tiles — each with a short label for what it typically suits. One click sets the scale.

Theme matching scales
TableTop Wargaming and tabletop miniatures (incl. 28 mm, 15 mm, 6 mm)
Model railway Gauges from G down to Z (H0 = 1:87, N = 1:160)
Play worlds Playmobil, LEGO, Siku, Hot Wheels
Dollhouse the common dollhouse scales
Architecture furniture, working and design drawings, urban-planning model
custom scale any whole divisor from 1:10 to 1:300, via the number wheel

At very small or very large scales, PrintHaus shows a note that you confirm once before downloading.

Which scale?

How to pick the right scale and what it means for printing is under Scales.

Under Print target (right parameter panel) you choose what the files are prepared for:

  • Bambu Lab printer3MF with print settings. In the drop-down you pick your Bambu model.
  • Manual bed sizegrouped STL. You enter the bed size X × Y in millimeters yourself.

Print bed too small

If a part category doesn't fit flat on the chosen bed, PrintHaus warns you and names the affected categories. More on printers and bed sizes under Printers & print bed.

File formats

Which file you get depends on the print target: 3MF (Bambu printer) or grouped STL (manual bed size). Every export package also contains a model.json — upload it later under "Load project" and your house is fully restored (colors included).

An overview of all formats is under Export formats.

Further options

Option Description
Export only visible parts Only the parts/floors shown in the preview go into the print files. model.json, views and the inputs list stay complete.
File-name prefix Puts your own text in front of the file name (up to 60 characters; default "PrintHaus").
Show my model in the gallery Places an anonymous isometric shot of your house in the public gallery on the home page. Default: off.

Windows & doors in the export

Depending on the scale, one of two controls appears:

  • Glazed window (at scales up to 1:99): two tiles to choose from — glazed frame → frame and pane as one multicolor printed part (pane fixed in the frame); open frame → without panes. Applies to all windows.
  • Close openings with the Windows and Doors toggles (only at small scales from 1:100): closes the openings with a thin pane.

Very small scale (monolith)

From 1:100 each floor and the roof are exported as one solid body — windows and doors only as cut-outs, without bars, panes or connectors (too small for them). A corresponding note appears right under the scale.

Download

Depending on the print target, the download button is called "Download 3MF print files" or "Download grouped STL" and shows the chosen scale as well.

Login & quota

To download you must be signed in and have redeemed an access code. Your download status (used of available downloads) is shown under the button.

After you click, the server prepares the files — this takes at least 30 seconds and up to 2 minutes. The notice window closes automatically as soon as the download starts.
